Job Title: 5 Axis CNC Machinist/Operator

Job Description

Join our team as a 5 Axis CNC Machinist/Operator where you will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of 5 & 3 axis machines to produce precision parts. This role requires working on either the 2nd or 3rd shift, ensuring high-quality production in our advanced technology-driven environment.

Responsibilities

Calculate dimensions or tolerances using instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and portable CMM or FARO.

Machine parts to specifications using 5 & 3 axis machines.

Set up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools for precision machining operations.

Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines per set-up documentation.

Measure, examine, or test completed parts to check for defects and ensure conformance using precision instruments.

Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.

Maintain machine tools in proper operational condition.

Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, or engineering information to determine product conformance.

Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency.

Diagnose machine tool malfunctions to determine need for adjustments or repairs.

Collaborate with engineering, supervisory, or inspection personnel to verify technical information.

Fit and assemble fixtures and cutters to make or repair products.

Dispose of scrap or waste material in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations.

Separate scrap waste and related materials for reuse, recycling, or disposal.

Evaluate machining procedures and recommend changes for improved efficiency or adaptability per the Kaizen process.Essential Skills

Minimum of 2 years of setup and operating a 5 axis machine (Haas, DMG, Makino or Mazak).

Set-up experience is required.

Ability to inspect and deburr own parts off the machine.

Willingness to work an off shift (2nd or 3rd).Additional Skills & Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

1-2 years of experience running 3, 4, and 5 axis numerical control machines preferred.

Experience with Mazak, Haas, Fanuc, and Siemens controls.

Knowledge of tools like calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.Why Work Here?

All new hires undergo 6-8 weeks of training on the first shift to learn our processes. Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Wichita, Kansas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $58240.00/yr.
