Position Summary
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing all HR operations while serving as a strategic advisor to the leadership team. This role is critical to ensuring compliance, supporting employee development, and driving HR initiatives that support our organizational goals and values.
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
Supervises: Human Resource Supervisor, Human Resource Specialist, Human Resource Assistant
Key Responsibilities
Strategic planning, collaborating with leadership to develop and align HR strategies with company goals.
Integral partner with leadership team in defining company goals and objectives and ensuring connection to performance review process.
Advisory role to members of the leadership team,
Oversee recruitment, interviews, hiring, and new employee onboarding.
Program design (compensation, benefits, culture, team member engagement, learning and development).
Manage employee benefits programs including medical, dental, retirement, and FLEX.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
Administer and update the employee handbook, policy manual, and union contract.
Lead performance review process and assist with disciplinary actions.
Support employee relations, workplace investigations, and conflict resolution.
Manage FMLA, ADA, MN Leave, workers’ comp, and insurance claims.
Administering the collective bargaining agreement.
Assist with payroll preparation and reporting; serve as a backup for biweekly payroll.
Coordinate company events, meetings, and training programs.
Promote a safe work environment and lead safety committee efforts.
Maintain strict confidentiality in all HR matters.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field (required).
SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification (required).
3–5+ years of HR experience, including leadership responsibilities.
Strong knowledge of HR laws, compliance, and best practices.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Experience in the telecom industry (preferred).
Proficient with HRIS and payroll systems. (BambooHR, NISC iVue and iVue Connect)
