Intermountain Electronics (IE) is a leading provider and manufacturer of custom engineered Process, Electrical Control and Power Distribution turn-key solutions to the Data Center, Industrial, Power/Utility, Oil & Gas, Mining industries in North America. Our products range from large scale one-off custom Power Distribution, Control and Process systems to standard off-the-shelf electronic/electro-mechanical components. We are currently seeking Electrical and Metal Fabrication Interns to be based at our Price, Utah facility.

Paid Internships Meet Classic College Life
IE has teamed up with USU Eastern to provide paid internships for those interested in the Electrical and Fabrication/Welding fields. Get a jumpstart on your career in an in-demand industry, and still enjoy a classic college experience!
PROGRAM DETAILS
The internship is 90 days and participants will earn 6 - 8 Utah State University - Eastern college credits.
Students reside in the heart of Utah’s Castle Country and enjoy rich student life traditions like Gibby, Lite Brite, and opportunities to cheer on their peers with 8 athletic teams. Students also have full access to all the student resources available on campus.
High school graduates accepted into the internship program will be paid $14 per hour.
The majority of internship course work will be conducted on-site at Intermountain Electronics.
Space is limited each semester.
*Any applicants accepted to USU, but not accepted into the internship, can still be admitted to USU and are welcome to pursue other programs of interest that are available. USU Eastern has a wide variety of technical education degrees and programs.

INTERNSHIP AT IE STARTS:

WHERE:

WHO IS ELIGIBLE:
Must be 18+ years of age
Must be a high school graduate or equivalent by the Internship start date.
Accepting students from anywhere in the United States
Must be able to provide your own transportation from USUE Dormitories to IE.
WHAT DO YOU GET FOR PARTICPATING:
Paid Internship ($14+ per hour minimum).
No cost for campus housing (except $150 room deposit) and meal plan.
Earn 8 college credits at no cost.
Access to academic and student life resources.
Classic student experiences.
Immediate, on-the-job training.
Daily Schedule
Interns will typically work Monday - Friday from 6:00 am - 3:30 pm and every other Friday off
Part Time Shifts are available for those students taking additional college classes
Different crews may have different schedules.
The first two weeks of the program are mandatory for training purposes.
Lunch Breaks
Lunch will be 45 minutes, typically at 11:30am or 12:00 pm, but subject to change based on crews.
Internship participants are provided a USU Eastern meal plan and are welcome to eat lunch on campus or go elsewhere at their own expense.
Holidays
Interns will follow the Intermountain Electronics holiday schedule, not the university schedule.
Program Costs
There are no costs associated with acceptance into the program. (With the exception of a room deposit for the dormitories)
Tuition/Fees
The internship covers 100% of USU tuition, books and fees for the internship courses.
Housing
Students will live on campus in the Tucker or Burtenshaw Residence Halls. Housing costs are included in the internship program.
Dining
The internship covers a meal plan consisting of 160 swipes/meals.
* Transportation is not covered from the campus to Intermountain Electronics.
