Maine Department of Transportation Salary: $47,174.40 - $65,832.00 (per year) (Salary Schedule) Office/Bureau: Office of Legal Services Location: Augusta, ME Position Number: 02500-1553 Opening Date: May 28, 2025 Closing Date: June 11, 2025 Job Description: This position is investigative services work involving the investigation and resolution of complaints and allegations under the purview of the Department of Transportation Office of Legal Services.

Responsibilities include interviewing complainants, respondents, and witnesses; investigating cases and recommending solutions; gathering facts and analyzing information; resolving complaints and allegations; investigating right of way issues such as encroachment questions, property damage, and drainage issues; responding to public inquiries concerning right of way boundaries and associated safety issues; and writing up investigative reports and other case documentation.

Work is performed under limited supervision.

To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must provide evidence of the following experience: A six (6) year combination of education and experience providing paralegal, investigative, mediation, research, and/or analytical skills.
