Distribution Operations Manager

Job Description

Position Summary: Oversees the efficient storage, transportation, and distribution of goods. The ideal candidate will manage logistics processes, ensure timely delivery of products, and optimize operations to meet customer demands and organizational goals. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate across teams.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Plan, organize, and manage the distribution of goods, ensuring products are delivered on time and in excellent condition.

Develop and implement efficient logistics strategies to optimize transportation and minimize costs.

Manage warehouse operations, including inventory control, storage, and distribution processes.

Monitor and analyze distribution metrics and KPIs to improve overall performance and operational efficiency.

Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and customers to resolve any issues related to shipping, delivery, or inventory.

Oversee and ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements in all distribution processes.

Negotiate contracts with transportation providers and other third-party logistics services.

Train, supervise, and evaluate the performance of distribution and warehouse staff.

Develop contingency plans to address disruptions in the supply chain or unexpected challenges.

Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory, and logistics operations for reporting purposes.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is preferred.

Proven experience as a Distribution Manager, Logistics Manager, or in a similar role.

Certification in logistics or supply chain management.

Experience in managing international logistics and customs compliance.

Job Skills:

Strong understanding of supply chain, warehouse, and distribution processes.

Proficiency in logistics software and inventory management systems.

Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.

Strong leadership and communication abilities.

Knowledge of applicable regulations, safety standards, and best practices in logistics and transportation.

Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

High School diploma or GED is required

Bachelor's degree is preferred

Physical Requirements:

Occasional travel to meet with suppliers, vendors, and clients

Operates in both office and warehouse settings

Special Requirements:

· Valid Driver’s License

· OSHA 30
