Overview

Responsible for assessing and managing risks across the organization's Security, IT, Audit and all Navy Federal Credit Union operational environments. Collaborative approach to high-profile work with expectations of on time delivery of executive-ready work product. Knowledge and mastery of agile methodologies in managing work and ability to decisively prioritize work in supporting a high-performing team. Experience working at the enterprise level with varied stakeholders in different areas of focus and risk. Works closely with cross-functional teams to identify and analyze emerging technology risks, implement risk management strategies, and maintain compliance with industry standards and regulations. Hands-on commercial insurance experience at an enterprise-level. Plays a key role in developing frameworks for risk identification, reporting, mitigation, and escalation. Responsible for understanding the risk landscape, implementing risk management frameworks, and ensuring that the organization adheres to industry standards, NFCU processes, and regulatory requirements with an understanding of NCUA and FFIEC regulations. Work under minimal supervision and use complete understanding of business needs and objectives to support projects that have impact on the achievement of operational goals in a fast-paced environment. Advanced skill set and proficiency with procedures and techniques. Comfort with presenting information to a wide variety of stakeholders, including executive leadership.

Responsibilities

Experience in insurance, risk management, cybersecurity, audit, and/or IT governance

Hands-on experience with risk assessments, risk frameworks, and mitigation strategies

Proven experience in managing else mitigating organizational risks

Advanced knowledge of risk management principles, frameworks and regulatory compliance requirements

Analyze new and existing business requirements and business processes to determine associated risks

Stay informed about emerging property, terrorism, financial, cybersecurity, threats and other vulnerabilities that could affect the organization

Alignment to enterprise risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures

Prioritize risks based on business impact, and work with stakeholders to design and implement mitigation strategies

Ensure that risk management processes align with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards

Partner with compliance and legal teams to monitor adherence to regulatory changes impacting risks

Knowledge of NFCU processes, controls, standards and instructions preferred

Participate in the preparation and presentation regular reports to senior management and stakeholders on the status of insurance risks, trends, and mitigation efforts

Collaborate with internal teams such as IT, cybersecurity, compliance, legal, audit and other business areas to ensure a cohesive approach to risk management

Monitor the evolving threat landscape and emerging technologies to update risk strategies and frameworks accordingly

Promote a culture of risk awareness and proactive risk management throughout the organization

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Risk Management, Accounting, Business, or a related field or equivalent combination of training, education

Solid experience in insurance, risk management, cybersecurity, audit, and/or IT governance

Complete knowledge and understanding of business area/specialization

Hands-on commercial insurance experience at an enterprise-level

Hands-on experience with risk assessments, risk frameworks, and mitigation strategies

Proven experience in managing and mitigating organizational risks

Advanced knowledge of risk management principles, frameworks and regulatory compliance requirements

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex risk concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines

Desired Qualifications

Master's Degree in related field or equivalent combination of training, education and experience

Relevant certifications or evidence of working toward certifications preferred

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM
