2025-2026 Tentative Strategies Special Education Teacher K-4 Huckleberry Hill School Required Qualifications: Moderate or Severe disabilities certification is required SEI Endorsement Excellent written and oral communication skills Responsibilities and Expertise: Provide direct academic instruction Collaborate with general education teachers, speech and language pathologists, occupational therapists, district BCBA, direct providers, and other special educators Responsible for following the student IEP and ensuring compliance with state and federal SPED regulations, including the delivery of high-quality services, and the provision of accommodations/modifications for instruction and assessment Experience working with and training paraprofessionals to work with special education students Experience developing/modifying academic curriculum for a wide variety of learning profiles Experience working with teachers to ensure inclusive opportunities for students with varying needs Experience with behavior and collaborate with staff across the school to develop comprehensive and individualized behavior plans for students on caseload Experience with administering, analyzing and interpreting standardized testing results Experience with data collection and progress monitoring tools Experience with co-teaching and inclusion support Experience with effective parent/guardian communication Experience writing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), collecting data to monitor students’ progress, and presenting this information at IEP meetings Experience with systematic research-based reading instruction: phonemic awareness, phonics, word, and linguistic structure, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension, preferred Experience with systematic research-based writing instruction preferred Performance of other job-related duties as assigned Experience creating schedules for students and paraprofessional staff
