Site Coordinator Malden Out-of-School Time Program
Overview of the Malden Public Schools:
The Malden Public Schools (MPS) is a richly diverse school district located within the Greater Boston area and accessible by the MBTA orange line train. Malden’s student body comprises approximately 6,800 students who represent 59 different countries and speak 67 different languages. We have 1 early learning center, 5 K-8 schools, and 1 high school. General Description: The Malden Out-of-School Time (MOST) Program provides after school, vacation, and summer programs for the Malden Public Schools. Our programs follow the MPS calendar and the after school programs operate from school day dismissal until 6:00pm including early release days. Full day programs are offered during February and April school vacation weeks and during summer break. It is our mission to provide high quality, affordable, Out-of-School Time care to Malden students in grades K through 6.
The Site Coordinator will provide onsite supervision of all aspects of the afterschool program and will be assigned to one the following schools: Beebe School, Forestdale School, Linden STEAM Academy and Salemwood School.
Responsibilities include:
School Year Responsibilities (Months of late August–late June):
Supervise After School staff including observing enrichment activities and staff attendance and performance
Facilitate on-site weekly staff meetings
Ensure teachers are following all program homework and project-based activity guidelines
Conduct student daily attendance, facilitate parent/guardian pick-up process and maintain attendance records
Assign students into activity and homework clubs
Implement MOST Behavior Management Policy
Maintain classroom environment including set up and maintenance of supplies
Follow program health and safety procedures
Build and maintain positive relationship with school day Principals and staff, families and community
Plan and execute end of Session Parent/Community Nights to showcase students’ projects
Attend regularly scheduled meetings with MOST Directors
Attend orientation, meetings and trainings
Collect and report data for program evaluation
Submit all paperwork including timesheets and requisitions to main office in a timely manner
Maintain site budget
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred; and have a minimum of 2-4 years of experience in teaching and/or administration in the field of afterschool and out-of-school time education, recreation or related field
Ability to supervise and support a team of up to ten staff members and additional community partners
Strong leadership and organizational skills
Ability to multitask and coordinate daily activities including student attendance, tuition collection and management and parent communication
Strong written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with school day teachers, families, community and MOST Administrative team
Experience with program planning and curriculum planning with Common Core Standards
Experience in working with diverse learners and families from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds
Reports to: MPS District Coordinator MOST Program
Terms of Employment:
42 weeks during the school year approximately between August 18, 2025-June 30, 2026
2 weeks before the start of school-based on the current school year calendar
39 weeks of direct care and supervision of school year programs-based on the current school year calendar
1 week after school year-based on the current school year calendar
195 work days per year
30 hours per week during school year; 12:00pm-6:00pm
Starting at $40,320 for school year (42 weeks), pending education and experience
Eligible for health and dental insurance
10 sick days per year
Required to obtain First Aid/CPR Training and complete Mandated Reporter Training within 60 days of hire
Additional stipend hours during February/April Vacation Program and Summer Program; full day offered to Site Coordinators.
