ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Cisco Networking Academy Manager is responsible for managing the Cisco Academy Support and Instructor Training Center. The Manager will provide daily email and phone support to academies that align with META’s Academy Support Center and arrange training for new instructors.
This position will report to any of META’s five office locations (Athens, Columbus, Dayton, Marion, or Piketon) one day per week and remote 4 days per week as schedules allow.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Deliver initial and ongoing support to academies. Email, phone, virtual meetings, social media, recordings, and instant messenger are tools that are used to reach our instructors both synchronous and asynchronous.
Provide quarterly professional development for instructors
Build a community of Cisco Academy teachers. Collaborate to share best practices, methodologies, curricula, course modules and materials, provide faculty training and offer support to schools who want to implement and develop a Cisco Networking Academy
Create a schedule for instructor training; flexible training is available year-round
Assist teachers in locating training or other services
Teach instructor training classes
Provide orientation for new Cisco Academy administrators and instructors
Provide solutions to problems with
Learn and advertise new Cisco Academy courses
Assist in ordering and upgrading equipment
Direct academies to resources and support
Localize and disseminate critical communications from Cisco
Familiarize academies with new tools
Back academies with change initiatives
Build awareness and offer training on available and updated resources and tools
Offer advanced training opportunities
Direct and promote student competitions and events
Recognize outstanding academies and students
Contribute proactively to the online community discussion boards to help connect members to available resources and the latest program information
Extend optional site visits to Cisco Academies upon request
Develop and maintain strong relationships and high levels of communication
Develop and nurture relationships with Cisco Systems Managers
Maintain a clear focus on costs, income, and value-added services
Perform any and all other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology
Background in teaching
Previous experience managing support staff and project teams
Ability to set goals and objectives
Ability to prioritize customer needs
Skilled communicator in both written and verbal ability
Ability to handle multiple responsibilities
