The Position:

Richards is now seeking an experienced, motivated, and results-oriented Value Stream Manager to help us elevate our Core Richards business based in Cincinnati. This business is comprised of the Jordan Valve, Low Flow, Steriflow, Steriflow Food & Beverage, Marwin, Hex, and Bestobell product lines.

The Value Stream Manager (VSM) for the Jordan Valve product line owns the top line growth, delivery, operations, quality, and overall customer experience. The VSM will enable Richards Industrials (RI) to rapidly scale our existing Jordan Valve product line capability to support growth of existing products.

The VS Manager will lead the transformation of the organization from functionally aligned groups to a fully aligned Jordan Value Stream team striving to rapidly grow and improve the delivery, quality, cost, and customer experience. The right candidate will partner with our Supply Chain Organization to deploy a fully integrated strategy achieving the best overall value for our customers. Additionally, the VSM will be responsive, reliable, customer focused and willing to spend considerable time on the shop floor working alongside the team, identifying and growing talent and leaders within the value stream.

The VSM is responsible for growing business in collaboration with the Product Management and Sales organizations as well as the development and execution of the annual operating plan. The VSM will have direct reports from Planning, Programming and Operations with responsibility for associated performance management.

The Value Stream Manager will report directly to Richards' Vice President of Manufacturing.

He or she will be responsible for the following:

Transform a select group into a dedicated team delivering top line growth, quality, delivery, and productivity improvements supporting the Jordan Valve product line within RI.

Lead capital investment and site transformation projects required to launch the value stream as well as champion creation and deployment of future state roadmap

Directly responsible for achieving the annual operating plan results and the subsequent performance management of all direct reports within the Jordan value stream

Creates a work environment where employees are energized, excited and motivated to continuously improve value stream processes, delight our customers and accomplish both individual and team goals and objectives

Champions rapid problem solving and accountability throughout the Value Stream

Ensures that value stream KPIs are realized with emphasis on product safety, quality, delivery, sales, cost, and regulatory compliance

Recommends capital improvements by identifying major facility and equipment need, monitors technological changes in industry to ensure the company maintains cutting edge productivity

Establish and champion area 5S program to ensure that housekeeping and safety issues are resolved in a timely and systematic manner

The VSM makes staffing decisions and actively participates in the recruiting process

Builds and owns a daily communication meeting cadence with team and employees working in the value stream to ensure short- and long-term objectives are achieved

Partner with senior leadership group to develop business strategies for success, staffing optimization and overall site management

Ensure the entire team staff are properly trained, resourced, supplied and managed to attain strategic objectives

Responsible for coordinating and scheduling machine and equipment maintenance in addition to completing all preventive and regularly scheduled maintenance

Utilize external and internal VOC to evaluate or enhance processes

Lead and own the layout, flow, and operations strategy to deliver continual productivity improvements to RI & customer Qualifications Include:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, or Business with 10+ years' experience

Operations focus: proven ability to lead and manage with the following attributes:

Able and willing to change the status quo and effectively champion change

Successful track record in a high mix / low volume manufacturing environment

Experience with make/buy decisions and procurement strategies

Thorough understanding of applicable quality system requirements: ISO 9001

Solid financial knowledge

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Effective interpersonal skills with all levels throughout the organization

Knowledge of manufacturing principles, processes, and tools

Knowledge of associated operational processes and controls which he/she is responsible (e.g. machining, welding, assembly, etc.)

Ability to lead and develop talent, complete performance reviews, and deliver feedback and coaching
