Job Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and driven Electrical Engineer with a valid Professional Engineer (PE) license to contribute to renewable energy infrastructure projects. The selected candidate will play a critical role in designing, reviewing, and overseeing electrical systems, ensuring regulatory compliance, safety, and performance standards are upheld throughout all project phases.
Primary Responsibilities
Electrical System Design & Evaluation: Develop comprehensive electrical system designs for renewable energy installations, including power distribution, lighting, control systems, and instrumentation, in line with applicable codes and standards.
Professional Stamping of Documents: Review and officially seal engineering drawings, certifying compliance with engineering and safety regulations.
Project Involvement: Supervise electrical components across all stages of project execution, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure timely and budget-conscious completion.
Regulatory Compliance: Guarantee adherence to the National Electrical Code (NEC), local building ordinances, and industry-specific guidelines in all engineering work.
Technical Consultation: Assist with the identification and resolution of technical issues during both design and construction phases.
Safety Compliance: Uphold and integrate OSHA safety protocols into all design work, advocating for a strong safety culture within project teams.
Interdisciplinary Coordination: Work closely with professionals across disciplines—including mechanical engineering and renewable energy development—to produce integrated and effective energy solutions.
Documentation & Reporting: Generate technical reports, proposals, and regulatory documentation required for client presentations and project approvals.
Professional Development: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving electrical engineering standards and advancements in renewable energy technologies.
Minimum Qualifications
Licensure: Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering, with authority to review and stamp engineering documents.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience, particularly in the field of electrical design and renewable energy systems.
Software Proficiency: Familiarity with power systems software such as PSSE, PSCAD, TSAT, and CYMCAP.
Technical Acumen: Strong grasp of electrical standards, system integration, and energy infrastructure.
Communication Skills: Ability to convey technical information clearly and collaborate effectively with various team members.
Analytical Skills: Demonstrated capacity to diagnose problems and develop practical engineering solutions.
Preferred Credentials
Prior experience working on solar, wind, or battery energy storage projects.
Background in energy modeling or system simulation tools.
Graduate-level education in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Other Requirements
Must be authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship provided).
Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
