We now have an opening for a Sr. Red Hat Linux Administrator on a long-term opportunity with the potential for a multi-year contract. You will manage and optimize the client s Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments. This candidate will be responsible for ensuring system stability, security, and performance while supporting a range of enterprise applications. This role requires advanced expertise in Linux administration, automation, troubleshooting, and security best practices.

Highlights and Benefits:

Hybrid 3 days onsite (Annapolis, MD)

Work Hours: 8:00 AM 4:30 PM Eastern Time

W2 hourly pay rate up to $94hr or salaried equivalent

Job Description:

We are hiring a highly experienced Senior Red Hat Linux Administrator to join our team as a direct W2 employee. This role involves managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems across development, testing, and production environments.

Install, configure, and maintain RHEL servers in various environments.

Perform system upgrades, patch management, and security hardening.

Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure uptime and efficiency.

Automate system administration tasks using Ansible, Bash, or Python.

Configure and maintain Red Hat Satellite, Identity Management (IdM), and related tools.

Collaborate with security teams to maintain compliance with security standards and protect systems against vulnerabilities.

Manage storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.

Support application teams with Linux deployment best practices.

Maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting.

Participate in on-call support and incident response as needed.

Setup Network File System (NFS) and mount points.

Configure Chron jobs for both systems and applications.

Required Skills and Experience:

Must provide copy of Bachelor s or postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Must provide copy of Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) certification or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE). (The certification may be either current or non-current)

Desired Skills and Experience:

10+ years of experience administering Red Hat Linux systems.

10+ years of experience with Unix (AIX) on IBM pSeries.

15+ years of overall experience in the Information Technology (IT) field.

Advanced expertise in Linux administration, automation, troubleshooting, and security best practices.

Systems & Platforms:

Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

Unix (AIX) on IBM pSeries

Red Hat Satellite & IdM

Performance tuning, load balancing, partitioning, disaster recovery

Administrating Systems Including but Not Limited To:

Oracle WebLogic, Oracle Database, Oracle OBI

Progress 4GL / OpenEdge

Apache Web Server

vSphere-hosted RHEL systems

PeopleSoft, Mobius

Elastic Search, Rubrik backup systems

CVS (Concurrent Version System)

Red Hat Support

Electronic Imaging Support

Oracle Database backup solutions

Rubrik and disaster recovery tools

Networking & Availability:

Complex networked systems environments

24/7 system availability environments

Knowledge of:

Red Hat administration including configuration and tuning

Soft Skills & Abilities:

Work effectively in a team-oriented environment

Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Demonstrate leadership and initiative

Provide user support and interface with helpdesk

Troubleshoot issues at the OS, database, and application levels
