Sigma Defense is seeking Systems/Software Engineers, levels I-III to support Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES) for U.S. Navy platforms. The successful candidate will provide systems integration, configuration, troubleshooting, and lifecycle engineering support for Navy IT networks and systems. The candidate will work closely with Navy stakeholders and partner teams to ensure applications and services are documented and integrated effectively into CANES.

Requirements

3-10+ years of experience.

Security+ or CISSP, and at least one Operating System certification (Linux, Windows, VMware, Cisco) must be obtained within the first six months of hire if the candidates does not already possess the required certifications.

CANES experience is preferred.

Personnel Clearance Level:

Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret security clearance or higher.

Clearance will be sponsored for the right candidate.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's or Technical Degree from an accredited college or university in an unspecified field of study.

Essential Job Duties (not all-inclusive):

Design, develop, and maintain software components and automation tools supporting CANES system configuration, installation, and mission operations.

Create, modify, or enhance scripts utilities and tools used in CANES configuration, automation, and deployment.

Integrate hardware and software with VMware-based virtual infrastructures, Windows, Linux, via IP based and Non-IP based applications used on Navy systems.

Support and perform software patching, updates, and application compatibility testing to ensure system baseline integrity.

Create and maintain system automation tools. (e.g., Ansible, PowerShell, Python, Bash)

Contribute to system compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards including STIG implementation and RMF validation.

Troubleshoot complex issues in lab and deployed environments while providing root cause analysis and defect resolution implementation.

Collaborate with CANES Engineering team in a fast-paced operational environment to support operational readiness.

Ensure CANES meets requirements and operates effectively, considering all aspects of the CANES lifecycle, from design to maintenance.

Participate and support production installation events, lab integration testing, and software readiness reviews.

Salary Range: $75,000 - $180,000 annually.
