Job Title: Senior Staff Accountant

Location: Corporate Headquarters – Arizona

Reports To: Corporate Controller / Director of Finance

Industry: Cannabis – Vertically Integrated Multi-State Operator (MSO)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to join our growing finance team at a dynamic, vertically integrated cannabis company. This role is essential in supporting accurate financial reporting, managing complex multi-entity accounting processes, and ensuring regulatory compliance across operations in Arizona, Utah, New Jersey, and Florida.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Operations & Financial Reporting

Perform full-cycle accounting, including journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, and month-end close.

Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements in compliance with GAAP.

Support inventory, fixed assets, and cost accounting functions across cultivation, manufacturing, and retail operations.

Compliance & Internal Controls

Ensure adherence to internal control policies and support ongoing process improvement initiatives.

Assist with state-specific regulatory filings and compliance with cannabis industry requirements, including IRS Section 280E.

Maintain thorough documentation to support financial audits and regulatory reviews.

Financial Planning & Analysis

Collaborate with finance leadership on budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.

Assist in cash flow tracking and bank reconciliations.

Support data gathering for investor reports, audits, and due diligence activities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with teams across operations, compliance, and retail to ensure alignment in financial processes.

Support the integration of ERP and seed-to-sale systems into accounting workflows.

Promote consistency and accuracy in financial data across the organization.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

4–6 years of progressive accounting experience; multi-entity, multi-state experience preferred.

Experience in the cannabis, manufacturing, or retail industry is a strong plus.

Strong knowledge of GAAP; familiarity with 280E and cannabis financial regulations is a bonus.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Enterprise); exposure to ERP or seed-to-sale systems is preferred.

Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
