Position Summary:
As a Charge Nurse in the Recovery Room, you will provide direct patient care to individuals recovering from surgery, utilizing the nursing process within our established practice standards and organizational values.
Conduct focused patient assessments and continually reassess based on changes in condition and treatment.
Evaluate and manage patient pain effectively using appropriate techniques.
Deliver compassionate care, communicating effectively with patients of all ages and diverse needs.
Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of medications and ensure their proper administration.
Adhere to the six rights of medication administration to minimize errors.
Assist physicians during procedures and engage in technical and manual tasks as required.
Perform patient treatments within the scope of your licensure.
Ensure a safe and efficient care environment that prioritizes patient safety.
Operate medical equipment safely and competently.
Educate patients and families on disease processes.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
Associate's degree required
Bachelor's degree preferred
6+ months experience preferred
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) required
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 12 months of hire required
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 12 months of hire required
License:
Registered Nurse licensed in Kentucky required
