Job Summary
Synapse-ITS is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Analyst to join our team. The FP&A Analyst will partner closely with our Director of FP&A to play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and providing support for operational and financial decision-making. This role will also be instrumental in shaping our business intelligence infrastructure, supporting the development of impactful dashboards and reporting tools for our senior leadership team.
Essential Job Functions
Support the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts
Perform detailed variance analysis to provide insights into financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities
Assist the Director of FP&A in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for senior management
Develop and maintain financial models for decision-making (i.e., profitability analysis, cash flow modeling, etc.)
Collaborate with the Director of FP&A and leadership across the company to understand key financial, operational, manufacturing, quality, and human capital KPIs
Assist in developing, maintaining, and enhancing Power BI dashboards and reports for various departments
Provide ad hoc analysis and support on special projects and management requests for financial data analysis
Continuously identify and implement improvements in financial planning and analysis process, systems, and tools

Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education: Bachelors in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
Technical Experience &Skills:
2-3 years of experience in financial analysis, financial planning, or related roles
Experience with financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting
Knowledge of accounting principles and financial statement analysis
Experience with financial and operational metrics reporting
Knowledge of ERP and financial systems and reporting tools (SyteLine preferred)
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and similar advanced formulas
Comfort working in Microsoft environments, including Excel, SharePoint, and Teams
(Bonus) Familiarity with Power BI, or similar business intelligence software, including report and dashboard development and data modeling
(Bonus) Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or R for data analysis or automation
Soft Skills:
Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and data integrity
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills – able to translate complex data into clear business insights
Self-starter with strong time management skills and the ability to manage shifting priorities in a growing organization
Comfortable collaborating directly with finance and leadership teams to identify and prioritize business needs
Analytical mindset with attention to detail; able to identify trends, anomalies, and actionable insights
Comfortable operating in a high-accountability, low-bureaucracy environment
Excited by building from the ground up and bringing structure to ambiguity
Open to feedback and motivated by continuous learning and improvement
Able to document processes and train others on dashboard usage and data logic when needed
