Qualification Requirements
Minimum 24 continuous months of relevant experience within the last 30 months in a public or private institution.
Note: Employment breaks should not exceed four (4) weeks within this period.
Possess and maintain all required licenses and certifications to practice dentistry in the State of California.
Must be proficient in the English language and capable of communicating effectively in oral and written forms.
Inability to meet minimum qualifications will result in disqualification from service provision.
Service Delivery Requirements
Under the supervision of the Supervising Dentist or designee, the Dentist will provide direct care and act as the clinical leader for Dental Assistants. Responsibilities include:
Provide dental care based on medical necessity that protects life, prevents serious illness or disability, or alleviates severe pain impeding reasonable independent function.
Make clinical decisions in line with CDCR’s prioritization of essential services.
Defer non-essential dental services that can be safely postponed until the patient is released from custody.
Ensure timely and appropriate scheduling of ordered dental services and surgical procedures based on medical urgency.
Deliver scheduled services as agreed unless unavoidable delays occur.
Collaborate with other healthcare staff and maintain thorough documentation of all procedures and assessments.
