JOB DESCRIPTION
OVERVIEW:
We are seeking industrious and reliable Construction Laborers to join our team. As a remarkable Laborer, you will be attuned to the subtleties of each situation, possessing a mix of technical, physical and interpersonal skills.
DUTIES:
Perform manual labor on construction sites to include but not limited to:
Site Preparation: Cleaning debris, removing obstacles and preparing the area for construction.
Material Handling: Loading and unloading materials, carrying supplies and ensuring materials are stored properly.
Equipment Operation: Operating hand tools and power tools, as well as light and heavy equipment plus specialty tools to include: backhoes, skid steers, forklifts, manlifts, poly splicing machines, etc.
Structural Support: Building and dismantling scaffolding, installing cattleguards, setting H-braces and fencing and erecting temporary structures.
General Carpentry: Measuring, cutting, shaping and joining wood. Installation of elements such as walls, floors and trim.
Basic Plumbing: Repairing leaks, unclogging drains, flushing septic systems, installation of basic fixtures and valves.
Basic Electrical: Knowledge of basic electrical concepts such as voltage, current resistance and circuit principles. Identify, troubleshoot and repair electrical problems using tools and test equipment. Read blueprints, install conduit and wiring, install breakers, outlets and electrical fixtures.
Consult with supervisors and co-workers to ensure projects are completed on time and according to instructions.
Fill out, complete and submit daily equipment inspection reports, Job Safety Analysis forms (JSA), time sheets and other mission critical paperwork as required
Conduct duties in a safe, diligent manner at all times.
Always represent the company’s best interests in a professional and respectful manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Always observe and follow stipulated safety codes and protocols.
Follow verbal and written instructions without constant supervision.
Straight away report to immediate supervisor and Safety Manager all injuries or accidents.
Possess job -site situational awareness.
Ensure and be held accountable equipment and tools are properly checked for damage, operability and proper functionality prior to use.
Immediately document and report damaged or inoperable equipment and tools to direct supervisor.
Displaying active listening skills.
Maintain clean, organized, and safe job site.
Refine workflow and boost efficiency.
Abide by and follow the company’s Code of Conduct, Standard Operating Procedures and Safety Rules and Regulations.
REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Valid Driver’s license, Social Security card, US birth certificate or verifiable I-9 Employment Eligibility documents.
Effectively speak, write, and understand English. Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus.
Intermediate math skills.
Excellent vision or the use of prescribed lenses.
Exceptional manual dexterity and hand eye coordination.
Able to lift 69 lbs. without mechanical assistance
Ability to immediately display stated prior experience operating handheld tools, power tools and material lifting/moving equipment.
Basic knowledge and applicable construction skillset experience in general contracting: carpentry, electrical and plumbing.
Demonstrable ability to read and understand blueprints and construction diagrams/plans.
Sound understanding of safety guidelines, including accurate completion and submittal of Job Safety Analysis (JSA) documents.
Sharp decision-making skills, especially under pressure and in extreme weather conditions.
Ability to work extended hours and at times in austere locations.
Professional demeanor and efficacy.
Gas and energy business sector experience a plus
