Salary: $130,000 - $160,000

The Product Development Engineer will lead end-to-end technical execution of projects, from product definition to verification and delivery with a focus on embedded systems engineering. This role is a mix of engineering and project management, providing technical oversight across cross-functional teams and collaborating with customers and engineers to define and implement innovative embedded solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Engage with customers to gather product requirements, manage projects, and oversee budgets.

Conduct engineering analysis and define technical solutions aligned with business strategy.

Support business development through client acquisition and early-stage technical engagement.

Lead embedded systems development, including firmware and hardware design.

Use Agile and Scrum methodologies to deliver products

Manage technical plans, milestones, risk assessments, and open issues.

Coordinate with subsystem teams, subject matter experts, and suppliers to resolve integration and test issues.

Perform risk analyses, including FTA, OMA, and FMEA.

Contribute to product conceptualization, prototyping, testing, and design for manufacturing.

Maintain project delivery KPIs, including velocity, burn rates, quality metrics, and team performance improvements.

Qualifications

Passion for innovation, problem-solving, and bringing disruptive embedded solutions to market.

BS in Embedded Systems, Electrical Engineering, Firmware Engineering, or a related field (MS preferred).

7+ years of experience in embedded systems design, development, and testing, with client-facing consulting experience.

Expertise in embedded firmware, hardware design, real-time operating systems (RTOS), microcontroller architectures, and low-level programming (C/C++, assembly, Python, or similar).

Knowledge of communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Ethernet, BLE, etc.) and system integration.

Familiarity with industry best practices for embedded product lifecycle management.

Experience in medical device development adhering to ISO 9000, ISO 13485, IEC 62304, IEC 60601, and ISO 14971 standards.

Ability to review technical deliverables, including schematics, PCB layouts, mechanical CAD drawings, software code, and data analysis tools.

Adaptability to evolving business needs and product landscapes while maintaining a positive, solution-driven mindset.
