ROLE + RESPONSIBILITIES (includes but not limited to)

Develop design layouts based on customer specifications, using both standard and custom design approaches.

Create complete and accurate 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Prepare engineering documentation and models for order release to manufacturing.

Troubleshoot mechanical assemblies and provide technical support internally and to customers.

Layout customer drawings for processing on lasers, punch and press breaks.

Collaborate with project managers and engineering staff to ensure all customer requirements are met.

Utilize Microsoft Excel, Office, and Outlook proficiently for documentation, communication, and data analysis.

Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of the standard parts library.

Identify and propose process improvements to enhance team efficiency and product quality.

Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.

Support onboarding and training of new team members as needed.

Perform additional duties assigned by leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS

Associate’s degree in mechanical design or a minimum of 3 years of experience in a design role.

Strong background in mechanical design with hands-on experience in various fabrication methods using sheet metal and structural steel.

Proficient in AutoCAD 2D and 3D modeling software; SolidWorks experience preferred.

Strong mechanical aptitude with a keen attention to detail.

Experience with SolidWorks PDM is a plus.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Self-motivated with excellent planning, organizational, time management, and decision-making skills.

Ability to work individually and as part of a team, along with the ability to interact with all levels of a company.

Effective at giving and receiving technical direction within a team environment.

Able to perform under pressure and respond constructively to feedback.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical concepts.

Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Eagerness to learn and adhere to departmental standards and best practices

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Travel may be required

PREFERRED SKILLS

Ability to read, interpret, and work from technical drawings and blueprints.

Strong professional references with a proven record of excellent attendance, reliability, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
