Job Title: PLC Programmer & Installer

Job Type: Full-Time

Overview

We are seeking a skilled PLC Programmer & Installer to join our team in the packaging machinery industry. This role involves PLC programming, installation, troubleshooting, and technical support for automated packaging systems. The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving skills, hands-on technical expertise, and the ability to travel to customer sites as needed.

Key Responsibilities

PLC Programming & Configuration: Develop, modify, and optimize PLC programs for packaging machinery.

Installation & Commissioning: Set up and test automated packaging systems at customer sites.

Troubleshooting & Technical Support: Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, and software issues remotely and on-site.

Customer Training & Support: Provide hands-on training to operators and maintenance teams.

Travel: Willingness to travel domestically (and potentially internationally) for installations, maintenance, and emergency support.

Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of installations, programming changes, and troubleshooting procedures.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience: 3+ years of experience in PLC programming, automation, or industrial controls (preferably in packaging machinery).

Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or Omron PLCs.

Electrical & Mechanical Knowledge: Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot control systems.

Software Proficiency: Experience with HMI programming, SCADA systems, and networking protocols.

Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Communication: Ability to work directly with customers and internal teams to resolve issues efficiently.

Travel Flexibility: Willing to travel up to 50% of the time as required for installations and service calls.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field.

Experience in the packaging, food & beverage, or pharmaceutical industries.

Familiarity with robotic automation and motion control systems.
