Who You Are: The Lead Teacher in the Early Learning Lab Workgroup at Tri County Tech is responsible for overseeing the X classroom, which functions as a learning lab for Early Care and Education students. This classroom aims to enhance the quality of early education through structured curriculum development and lesson planning for children ages one to two years. In this role, the Lead Teacher provides a high-quality, safe, calm, nurturing, and playful environment that supports the development of children's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive skills. The teachers also prioritize family engagement by fostering a friendly atmosphere that values cultural diversity and builds community relationships. At Tri County Tech, the Lead Teacher collaborates with assistant teachers and substitutes in a supportive workplace that appreciates contributions and encourages professional growth.

What You'll Possess

As a qualified candidate:

You'll possess a High School Diploma. Technology Center Certificate or Associate's Degree preferred.

You'll be on the Oklahoma Registry through the Center for Early Childhood Professional Development or get registered within 90 days of employment.

You'll possess your Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. Certificate of Mastery preferred.

You'll possess your CPR/First Aid certification.

You'll possess a minimum of two years of related work experience.

You'll have a background in early childhood.

You'll have the physical ability to lift at least 50 lbs.

You are detail-oriented and organized.

You'll strive to exceed expectations and have excellent communication skills.

You'll take the initiative, seek out projects, and openly accept other duties as assigned.

You continually look for ways to improve your skill set and are always open to receiving feedback.

What You'll Do

ELL Teachers are individual contributors and collaborative team members working in a task-oriented environment while planning and providing high-quality educational experiences for children ages 6 weeks to 4 years. Semi-transactional, an ELL Teacher focuses on establishing a safe, calm, nurturing, and playful environment that develops young children's appropriate physical, social, emotional, and cognitive skills. Teachers are highly focused on building relationships with the Early Care and Education students, the ELL children, and parents, and excellent communication skills are essential. As lab teachers for high school students, ELL teachers must model exemplary leadership skills in their daily work. Non-Exempt

Essential Functions:

Provide quality lab experiences that align with the Early Care and Education students' curriculum goals.

Plan a developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities that meet national accreditation standards (NAEYC), DHS Licensing Requirements, and Oklahoma Early Learning Guidelines.

Stay up to date with current licensing and accreditation requirements for teachers, including, but not limited to, annual DHS training and OKRegistry renewal

Lead and Develop creative hands-on activities and projects based on your observations of children's interests and skills.

Collaborate with the teaching team to develop a creative curriculum that is designed to instill in children a love of learning.

Translate lesson plans into learning experiences that effectively utilize the available time for instruction.

Establish and maintain standards of children's behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.

Evaluate children's academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare reports relating to children's progress. Share appropriate milestones with parents daily.

Communicate with parents, if applicable, through conferences and other means to discuss children's progress and interpret the school curriculum.

Other Job-Related Duties as Assigned by the Supervisor: The omission of duties does not exclude them from the position if similar, related, or a logical assignment to the job. In other words, you'll be helping out on spontaneous projects and opportunities not listed above.
