Position Description:
deciBel Research is seeking an experienced System Engineer in Colorado Springs, CO to perform the following duties on a large scale DoD weapon system development program:
Analyze user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications
Analyze system requirements and leads design and development activities
Guide users in formulating requirements, advise alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies
Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology
Incorporate new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations
Develop technical documentation, including system architecture and system design documentation
Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans
Interact with the Product Owner regarding System Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues, or conflicts
Responsible for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the System Engineering area of responsibility
Target salary range: $120,000 - $160,000. This target salary represents an estimated range for this position based on experience, degree and other factors.

Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree is System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required
Experience Requirements:
Fifteen (15) years' experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, complexity is required
Four (4) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
Special Skills Desired:
Experience in the use of Atlassian tools
Automated CI/CD Pipeline configuration experience, including setup, scripting, configuration and maintenance
Experience with Jenkins
Experience with full software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debug and maintenance required
Experience with JIRA/Confluence
Experience with safety critical and nuclear critical software development (DO-178C, AFMAN 91-119, DO-330, etc.)
Familiarity with a structured process driven software development environment including peer reviews of all work products, using a revision control system, defect tracking and build release practices required
Experience with Git products
