Position: Data Scientist II
Location: Pope AFB, Lackland AFB

Status: Contingent Upon Award
Knowesis is currently seeking a Data Scientist II to support the United States Air Force.
This position requires a U.S. Citizenship (applicants without proof of US citizenship will not be considered due to the position’s security clearance requirement).
The Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Conducts data analytics, basic data manipulation, data mining, exploratory analysis, predictive analysis, and statistical analysis, and uses scientific techniques to correlate data into graphical, written, visual, and verbal narrative products, enabling more informed analytic decisions
Enter and analyze data within government systems
Maintain dashboards to automate data analysis, identifying, interpreting, and presenting trends, designed to record programmatic data
Assist with survey design. Create, analyze, and report survey data.
Provide consultation and assistance to supported units and staff to identify opportunities and methods for capturing data related to relevant programs and initiatives
Work in consultation with program staff.
Be able to use statistics/modeling tools and data visualization techniques to provide an accessible way to see and understand trends, outliers, and patterns in data to produce reports and presentations that accurately convey data trends supporting the mission
Required Qualifications:
Master’s in quantitative science, social science, or a related discipline
Advanced proficiency with the suite of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and Access
Advanced proficiency with commonly used statistical software applications such as SPSS, SAS, Python, and R-Shiny
Three (3) years, or more, of research experience in academic, social services, government, healthcare, or laboratory setting is required
Be able to read, write, and speak English fluently and clearly to effectively communicate with all personnel they will interact with
Possess excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication, presentation skills, and shall be highly detail-oriented
Possess sufficient initiative, interpersonal relationship skills, and social sensitivity such that they can relate constructively to a variety of contacts from a diverse background
Advanced proficiency may be demonstrated through an employment history in academia or other settings where the conduct of research is routine.
Proficiency must be further demonstrated by a history of scientific publications
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in quantitative science, social science, or a related discipline
Certification or documented experience with Human Performance
Experience working with Special Operations, athletics/sports, or other military settings
Experience with IT systems and no code databases
