Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced sales leader to join our Federal IT Services team as a Player/Coach. This pivotal role combines strategic leadership with hands-on sales execution. As the Director of Federal IT Sales, you will lead by example—driving personal sales results while guiding a high-performance team responsible for securing subcontracting and teaming opportunities in the Federal and SLED (State, Local, Education) IT staffing sector.
This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact, working closely with executive leadership to shape sales strategy, expand market presence, and develop top-performing sales and talent acquisition professionals.Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Execution
Act as a key contributor and strategic leader within the Federal IT services sales organization.
Direct day-to-day sales operations and pipeline development efforts, focusing on identifying, qualifying, negotiating, and winning IT staffing subcontract and teaming engagements.
Team Development & Coaching
Inspire, mentor, and lead sales and talent acquisition team members to consistently exceed headcount and revenue targets.
Foster a collaborative, performance-driven culture through continuous training, motivation, and strategic guidance.
Strategic Oversight & Financial Performance
Drive individual and team sales performance to meet or surpass financial objectives.
Set and monitor KPIs to measure team productivity, sales growth, and operational efficiency.
Organizational Leadership
Play an integral role on the company’s leadership team, demonstrating strategic thinking, emotional intelligence, and the ability to lead through influence.
Partner with recruiting and delivery teams to ensure alignment between sales and talent acquisition strategies.
Team Structuring & Talent Management
Recruit, build, and retain a diverse, high-performing sales team.
Develop career paths and professional growth plans to enhance retention and succession planning.Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in business, information technology, or a related field.
Experience:
7+ years of professional experience in Federal and/or SLED IT staffing sales, including subcontracting and teaming efforts.
3+ years of experience leading a sales team within the Federal IT staffing sector.
Demonstrated success managing sales pipelines, proposals, and business development initiatives in a government contracting environment.
Industry Knowledge:
Familiarity with IT disciplines such as cloud computing, cybersecurity, software development, ERP systems, or data analytics.
Understanding of federal security clearance requirements, including handling roles that require Top Secret or other cleared positions.
Sales Process Expertise:
In-depth understanding of the federal subcontract IT services sales lifecycle, with a proven ability to train and develop others in this process.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with Program Managers, Capture Teams, and other key stakeholders within prime contractor organizations.
Technical & Operational Proficiency:
Proficient in the use of CRM and ATS platforms, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience.
Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools to drive insights and manage performance.
Leadership Competencies:
Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple initiatives in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
Exceptional organizational, presentation, and communication skills—both written and verbal.
Analytical mindset with a strong focus on data-driven decision-making.
