General Statement of Duties The Airport provides an effective base of operations for corporate aircraft, air charter services, general aviation, and air cargo.

Smith Reynolds Airport's facilities are ideally suited for aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) operations and a variety of aviation related industrial and commercial development.

The Maintenance Technician II performs skilled maintenance, repairs, adjustments, and minor construction and electrical work to ensure that airport facilities are properly maintained and airport standards are met.

The Maintenance Technician II participates in planning required maintenance work, project tasks, coordinating, investigating, and resolving unusual situations as the needs arise, including urgent issues that must be handled in an expedited timeframe seven days a week.

This position is responsible and accountable for routine and non-routine maintenance across multiple trades.

Distinguishing Features * Industrial electrical maintenance is preferred.

* Ability to lift or carry up to 100 pounds.

* Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.

* Ability to work in extreme conditions including cold, heat, rain and areas with fumes.

* Ability to hear and speak clearly, including while utilizing telecommunication devices such as radios, cell phones and intercoms.

* Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced office environment while meeting time requirements in the production of work * Ability to wear protective equipment including gloves, goggles, hearing protection, respirators, and safety shoes.

* Effective detail orientation and visual evaluation ability Minimum Education and Experience Graduation from high school or GED and at least three years of experience in the relevant building trade and a valid N.C.

driver's license.

Must have demonstrated ability to perform semi-skilled to skilled maintenance work in one or more trades.

A candidate with industrial electrical or HVAC experience preferred.

Experience operating heavy equipment preferred.

A higher education level may be considered as a substitution for all or part of the experience requirement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Repair and maintain various facilities, components, structures, plumbing, electric systems, hardware, fire and safety protection, equipment systems, sprinkler systems, sensors, software, constructs and maintains indoor and outdoor facilities, fans, lights, and conducts structural inspections for safety.

* Preventative maintenance across multiple facilities.

* Maintains air handling units.

* Maintains a broad working knowledge facilities maintenance, materials, systems, and code requirements.

* Responds to facilities emergencies as the needs arise, including weekends and holidays.

* Assists with tasks to close and reopen specific facilities or areas.
