Job Summary:
The Experienced Commercial HVAC Installer at RMS will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial HVAC systems, including rooftop units, chillers, and custom piping solutions. This role requires technical expertise, a commitment to safety, and a customer-centric approach to support RMS’s reputation for excellence in West Michigan’s commercial and industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
Install commercial HVAC systems, including rooftop units, split systems, VAV systems, and custom HVAC piping, adhering to blueprints, specifications, and local codes.
Perform system startups, testing, and air balancing to ensure optimal performance and compliance with manufacturer standards.
Conduct preventive maintenance on HVAC systems to enhance efficiency and longevity, including filter changes, belt checks, and system diagnostics.
Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration components in commercial HVAC systems.
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other trades to ensure seamless project execution on commercial and industrial job sites.
Communicate effectively with clients to explain system operations, maintenance needs, and energy-efficient solutions.
Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance, and repairs for project tracking and client invoicing.
Strictly adhere to OSHA safety standards, company policies, and industry regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC installation, with proficiency in large-scale systems such as chillers, rooftop units, and geothermal systems.
EPA Section 608 Certification required; NATE, OSHA 10/30
Strong knowledge of HVAC system design, blueprints, schematics, and building automation systems
Ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs), climb ladders, work on rooftops, and access confined spaces in various weather conditions.
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an HVAC trade school or apprenticeship program preferred.
