Foundation Communities is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator who knows how much a dedicated group of volunteers can accomplish. You will work to connect community members with meaningful service opportunities supporting affordable housing communities. The Volunteer Coordinator will collaborate across teams to maintain a best-in-class volunteer experience.

Ideal candidates will:

· Excel in volunteer recruitment, actively spreading the word and utilizing various outreach methods to attract and invite a diverse group of volunteers.

· Be well organized, start your day by reviewing immediate needs and create a plan to stay on top of communication, volunteer logistics, and project coordination.

· Be able to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders at all levels, internal staff, external volunteers and donors.

· Possess strong customer service skills, add flare to your communication and be the trusting voice of support over the phone.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Recruitment and Retention

· Recruit a diverse pool of community members to volunteer with Foundation Communities’ Housing, Education, and Health programs.

· Get the word out through public speaking, tabling, online forums, and email campaigns.

· Inspire and motivate prospective and active volunteers to invest their time and stay informed about programs, using your own innovative, creative communication techniques.

· Recognize volunteers through communications, events, and relationship management.

· Create spaces where people are comfortable and truly want to be. Where staff, clients, and volunteers are encouraged to come as they are and know they are accepted, included, and respected. That includes you!

· Engage with local partners and develop new relationships to invite more community participation.

Operations and Management

· Use your strong customer service skills to manage high volumes of volunteer communication through email and phone.

· Establish and implement project timelines for community engagement efforts across multiple program areas.

· Track the community good that volunteers support by maintaining robust volunteer records, data, and reporting using multiple systems.

· Make space for all the feedback by providing support for the development and implementation of evaluation processes for volunteers and key staff. Think surveys, interviews, data collection, review and reflection! Think: keeping a focus on future improvements.

· Engage in conflict resolution as needed, and be willing to have difficult conversations while maintaining professional demeanor.

Training

· Ensure volunteers have the training, resources and support needed to be successful in their role.

· Work with program staff and volunteers to develop and present volunteer trainings, including orientations, guided discussions, and icebreaker activities.

· Provide volunteer support through the online training and onboarding process.

Skills and Qualifications:

· Minimum two (2) years’ experience with volunteer or community engagement, communications, and/or program coordination.

· Ability to coordinate multiple projects and tasks with competing deadlines.

· Adapts easily to new technologies. Uses technology to increase productivity. Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and working with a variety of databases.

· Ability to build authentic relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.

· Ability to work well independently and also committed to a team environment. · Must be “All In” - Commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion principles.

· Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

· General work in the main office, including sitting or standing, twisting at a desk, computer keyboarding and typing, making and taking phone calls.

· On-site events and visits at many different Foundation Communities locations.

· Occasionally lifting up to 20 pounds is possible.

· Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation is required.

Salary and Benefits: This is a full-time position, working a 40-hour workweek, $24.50/hour + time and a half for overtime hours. Position requires occasional evening and weekend events.
