Project Controls Training Manager

GavinHeath is partnering with a client in Westminster, CO, looking to add a Project Controls Training Manager to their team. The role is a Full-Time position with travel required up to 50%.

Responsibilities:

Lead the design and implementation of a scalable, field-aligned training academy focused on project controls, PM leadership, and operational execution.

Deliver instructor-led workshops and mentoring pathways for Project Managers, Assistant PMs, Project Engineers, and Project Controls staff.

Align learning outcomes to company SOPs, operational risk areas, and leadership expectations in industrial construction environments.

Develop content that bridges execution gaps in cost control, forecasting, scheduling, and change management.

Incorporate real-time performance feedback and project analytics to iterate and improve curriculum effectiveness.

Partner with field operations, PMO, and subject matter experts to align training with on-the-ground realities and future-state capabilities.

Serve as a strategic advisor in workforce development, identifying skill gaps and performance improvement opportunities across the PM lifecycle.

Leverage tools like Procore, Microsoft Project, and Primavera P6 within training content to ensure operational fluency. Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of experience in Project Management or Project Controls within industrial or commercial construction.

Deep understanding of scheduling, cost control, and earned value forecasting.

Demonstrated success designing or delivering training in project-based environments.

Strong command of tools including Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Procore.

Proven ability to facilitate learning for different experience levels (PEs through PMs).

Detail-oriented with superior time management, organization, and communication skills.

PMP, CAPM, or CCP certifications preferred but not required.

Comfortable traveling to job sites (up to 50%) in dynamic, industrial settings.
