Qualifications:

NJ Elementary certificate required

NJ Reading Specialist certificate preferred

Elementary teaching experience

Dual certificate in special education preferred

Knowledge and experience in the best practices of effective literacy interventions for struggling readers

Knowledge of the effective implementation of multi-sensory reading instruction

Knowledge of Wilson Reading System, Project Read and/or Orton Gillingham

Knowledge/evidence of implementation of best practices for supporting an inclusive environment and opportunities for students

Knowledge of Least Restrictive Environment regulations

Knowledge of Google for Education Responsibilities:

Assist staff in the identification of struggling readers and provide literacy intervention strategies for classroom teachers

Work with small groups of students within classrooms to target and model instruction and intervention strategies

Provide oversight of the administration of the Dibels assessment or other district reading leveling instrument

Support and implement the district's literacy intervention program

Provide targeted Tier II and Tier III literacy interventions

Maintain data regarding student reading levels, interventions, and monitor progress

Provide staff with appropriate additional resources for effective literacy instruction Terms of Employment:

A portion of these salaries will be supported by Title I Grant Funds (ESSA)

10 month year

salary and benefits per MTEA agreement

Salary range: $60,023 - $124,933 AA/EOE
