As a Project Engineer, you will be involved with construction projects from conception to completion. You will operate under the guidance of the Project Manager. As such, you will have the ability to directly impact the project schedule through submittal review and coordination. You will support the financial management aspects of the project through the change management process. Above all, you will leave your imprint upon each project you touch.
Objectives of this Role
Lead projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, project implementation plans, including risk mitigation
Establish and maintain relationships with appropriate client, providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
Assist Project Manager and Superintendents with the planning, development and coordination of all construction activities onsite
Maintain open and proactive communication with the project team, subcontractor, designer and developer
Construction scheduling
Prepare and maintain As-Built drawings
Quality Control
Assist the Project Manager by managing the project through completion.
Proactively identify design deficiencies, schedule concerns, and other project specific issues.
Maintain appropriate documentation throughout the project including change order logs and RFI Logs.
Shop drawing and submittal review and coordination
Project closeout Operation & Maintenance manuals
Read, understand, and plan according to the work specification and contract responsibilities.
Work with project teams to ensure proper record keeping and provide accurate reporting and metrics to support the overall program initiatives.
Identifies required resources to achieve project goals.
Participation in and documentation of project coordination meetings
Review and negotiate change proposal pricing from subcontractors
Change order documentation and associated cost reporting and maintenance
Monitor and document jobsite safety and accident prevention
Research and resolve drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, (RFI Process)
Project closeout (O&Ms, Warranties, As-builts, System Demonstration)
Skills and Qualifications
Four-year Engineering or Construction Management BS degree required
Minimum of one year job experience with a Commercial General Contractor plus education
Strong attention to deadlines
Ability to read construction drawings, understand construction procedures and terminology
Must have strong presentation, interpersonal and verbal communication skills
OHSA 30 preferred
Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Suite of products
