Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Interprets procedures, specifications, and drawings to determine if product meets standards.

Uses calipers, dial indicators, micrometers, thickness gauges, surf testers, radius gauges, and height gauges to determine if product meets standards.

Inspects and approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.

Inspects in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to QC Lead or production supervisor.

Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work.

Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes re-work and waste, and inputs data into quality database to create required documentation.

Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements and calling for repairs.

Notify QC Lead or quality management of trending nonconformances / rework issues.

Provide on the job training to new employees as needed

Follow all safety and health policies and procedures issued by the company

Must be able to work with minimal supervision

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.

REQUIRED SKILLS

Ability to read tape measure accurately.

Detail oriented and high organization skills.

Ability to utilize and read quality inspection equipment accurately.

Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, steel toed work boots, and gloves are required in plant
