Job Title: Trim Carpenter III
Seeking a skilled Trim Carpenter III to join our team! This position requires expertise in finish carpentry, including installing trim, molding, cabinetry, and hardware. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of carpentry experience, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSFinish Trim Installation – 40%
Install molding, window and door trim, crown molding, mantels, and ornamental woodwork.
Make precise cuts to ensure proper fitting of trim and millwork.
Complete putty and paint touch-ups as needed.
Cabinetry & Hardware Installation – 25%
Install cabinetry, shelving, and built-ins as required.
Mount door hardware, bath hardware, blinds, and other finish materials.
Ensure all installations meet quality and safety standards.
Blueprint Interpretation & Material Assessment – 20%
Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and shop drawings for accurate execution.
Assess material quality and verify measurements before installation.
Coordinate with Site Superintendent/Project Manager for materials and tools.
Mentoring & Safety Compliance – 15%
Train and mentor new or less experienced carpenters.
Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and all safety procedures.
Operate power tools and forklifts safely (certifications as needed).
Requirements
Education & Experience
Required:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
5+ years of finish carpentry experience.
Extensive knowledge of building construction and materials.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Compliance with all OSHA regulations and safety procedures.
Strong attention to detail and reliability.
Preferred:
OSHA 10 certification.
Associate degree in carpentry or completion of an apprenticeship.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
Ability to lift and carry up to 80 lbs.
Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling throughout the workday.
Ability to work at various heights and in all weather conditions.
Exposure to dust, noise, and active construction environments.
Schedule & Travel Requirements
Full-time (45-50 hours/week, Monday-Friday) with occasional overtime.
Regular in-state travel required.
Overnight stays near job sites may be necessary.
