Sr. Quality Technician

Salary Range: $22.00 - $24.00/hour

Hours: Monday - Friday 6 am - 2 pm

Essential Duties and Tasks:

· Assist Quality Leader in maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) and Food Safety System (FSS) by being the liaison between quality and the operations team regarding processes ensuring the appropriate procedures are being followed

· Receive in RA’s and create rework plans for the facility

· Work with Operations and Technical on customer feedback/complaints

· Disposition non-conforming materials on the production lines to ensure adherence to the quality system

· Act as the back-up SQF practitioner and food safety champion for the facility

· Responsible for reviewing job jackets for completeness and follows established good documentation practices (GDP)

· Work with the operations team on resolving customer complaints, determining root cause and corrective actions, ensuring these plans are being followed, and validating the action as correcting the issues

· Spearhead corrective action implementation and validation

· Responsible for managing the flow of non-conforming materials, both WIP and Raw materials providing disposition within a reasonable amount of time and conveying that information to the appropriate personnel

· Manage lab instrument calibration system

· Coordinate environmental testing

· Perform on-floor internal audits

· Conduct testing in materials

· Responsible for audits of production around cGMP, food safety and quality documentation.

· Assist in maintaining quality documentation including procedures and forms

· Identify and report trends regarding quality issues to the Quality Leader

· Back-up to Quality Leader in their absence

· Performs other duties as needed by ProAmpac Management

Requirements:

Comply with all ProAmpac Safety, Quality, Operational and Employment policies and practices

Day to day compliance with food safety and prerequisite programs

Report and help resolve food safety concerns

Remove from operation any machine deemed unsafe and immediately notify management

Adhere to all Quality principles as outlined in our Quality System to ensure efficient production of a quality product on a day-to-day basis

Operate in a manner that will reduce waste and optimize usable production

Halt manufacturing processes and immediately notifying management of any safety, material, equipment or technical non-conformance

Participate with co-workers and supervisors in addressing problem areas, planning methods and operating procedures

Identify and record quality related problems, initiate action to prevent nonconformance, and recommend solutions

Control the further processing of materials until any deficiency is corrected

BACK-UP Quality Technician or Quality Leader

Key Competencies:

Ethical Conduct

Quality Technology, Packaging Technology or related experience

Strong interpersonal skills

Creative and critical thinking

Ability to work with laboratory and testing equipment, collect data and facts to present in a meaningful manner

Understanding of industry equipment is preferred
