We are seeking a safety minded Facility Maintenance Repair I to learn and grow with our team in La Porte, TX. Responsibilities include but not limited to performing a variety of maintenance and repairs on equipment throughout the facility.

Perform maintenance activities including, but not limited to, pump rebuilds, preventative maintenance, basic installations of pipe, and electric work.
Perform basic repairs and up-keep in the welding, electrical, pipe fitting, and mechanical disciplines.
Acts as an assistant to higher-level maintenance personnel on larger, more complex maintenance activities.
Operates a forklift if required and trained.
Ensures that work meets all applicable Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures.
Ensures that work meets compliance standards within facility operation.
Reviews all applicable standard operating procedures (SOPs) annually and scores a satisfactory score on SOP quizzes.
Responsibility for supply management in their area of responsibility, including proper housekeeping and best management practices. Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment.
Responsible for adherence to all applicable policies and SOPs
Successful completion of both written and job performance testing within forty-five (45) training days of being placed into the position.
What does it take to work at Clean Harbors?
HS Diploma or equivalent required
Welding certificate preferred
5+ years’ maintenance experience in a plant or industrial environment preferred
3+ years millwright type experience preferred
Plant maintenance experience in one of the following areas: Preventative maintenance, pumps, electrical, hydraulic systems, pipefitting and welding
Forklift experience
Must be able to work a rotating schedule to include days, nights, and work shutdowns
Must be physically free of restrictions and be capable of lifting, climbing, working at heights, and wearing the required safety equipment (e.g. harness, lifeline, etc.)
Must be physically capable of performing work in confined spaces (e.g. tanks and vessels
Must be able to pass the Bennett Mechanical Comprehension Test and Welding Test, as well as several other tests covering basic mechanical skills during the 45-training day qualification period
