Position Overview
The Port of Morrow, through its SAGE Center facility, is seeking a dynamic and innovative STEAM Education Instructor to lead education programming in the Think Big Space. This position will deliver engaging, hands-on instruction in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) for Morrow County School District (MCSD) / Ione School District (ISD) students four days per week and will also develop public educational programs for the broader community during non-classroom hours.
This position reports to the SAGE Center Manager and collaborates closely with MCSD / ISD administration, classroom teachers, and Port of Morrow leadership to enhance educational offerings and community engagement.

Work Schedule: Primarily Monday–Friday (flexibility required for occasional evening or weekend programs)
Hourly Wage: $26.00–$30.00/hour, based on qualifications and experience

Primary Responsibilities
Instructional Services
Deliver STEAM-focused instruction in the Think Big Space for MCSD/ISD students, four days per week.
Design and implement hands-on, project-based learning experiences aligned with district and state educational standards.
Integrate critical thinking, technology, and innovation into all lessons.
Community Engagement
Lead public STEAM workshops, camps, and special events during non-school hours.
Create age-appropriate, inclusive programming for a diverse audience.
Promote community participation in STEAM initiatives aligned with the SAGE Center mission.
Program Development
Assist in developing curriculum, activities, and equipment use within the Think Big Space.
Maintain STEAM equipment, technology, and classroom materials.
Evaluate program effectiveness using student feedback and performance data.
Administrative Duties
Maintain accurate records of attendance, participation, and student outcomes.
Assist with grants, reporting, and funding proposals.
Communicate effectively with SAGE Center and school district personnel.
Ensure all programming adheres to Port of Morrow safety, legal, and operational policies.
Qualifications
Specific Job Skills
Familiarity with makerspace technology (e.g., 3D printers, coding kits, robotics).
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
Knowledge of Outlook, Microsoft Office programs, Canva, and JotForm’s.
Will be required to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen.
Must be able to speak publicly.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Oregon teaching certification recommended
Experience working with K–12 students and public education systems.
Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, evolving instructional environment.
Comfortable working in both virtual and in-person team settings.
Willingness to take on additional duties as needed.

Working Conditions
Primarily indoor instructional environment at the SAGE Center.
Frequent standing, light lifting (up to 25 pounds), and hands-on demonstration activities.
Occasional evening and weekend work for public programming and events.
