Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct routine electrical and electronic preventative maintenance on various mill equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Handle the repair, modification, and maintenance of a wide range of electrical and electronic machinery.
Engage in tasks such as wiring circuits, component replacement, and the repair of electronic devices.
Perform testing using various instruments, including multimeters and Megger, to diagnose issues.
Stay updated on technical advancements and equipment designs by attending training sessions as necessary.
Adapt to a rotating work schedule which may include nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Maintain a strong commitment to safety regulations, including the use of safety equipment and compliance with training requirements.
Education and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills are necessary.
Solid understanding of electrical fundamentals is required.
Knowledge of both 3 phase and single-phase power distribution systems, motor controls, wiring, and troubleshooting is essential.
Experience with 480-volt power and logic circuits is required.
Proficient in computer skills, math, analysis, and planning.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics independently is necessary.
Familiarity with machine control systems is required.
Capable of troubleshooting complex machine control systems.
Understand the features and functions of various controllers.
Ability to describe and compare pneumatic and electronic controllers is necessary.
Understand and identify signal paths through control circuits.
Experience with VFD drives and PLC systems is preferred.
Interpreting PLC logic in relation to equipment applications for troubleshooting is advantageous.
A combination of formal education and hands-on experience will be considered.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications required to successfully perform these roles.
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
High School diploma or equivalent education is mandatory.
Must be willing to work a 12-hour rotating schedule which involves nights, weekends, and holidays.
Available for emergency call-ins when required.
Ability to collaborate as part of a team and contribute positively.
Eagerness to cross-train for additional job responsibilities and skills.
Consistent and predictable attendance is essential.
Specialized Skills Needed for Promotion:
Capability to maintain all equipment within the assigned area.
Ability to enhance workplace processes and procedures.
Meet the requirements of a respirator fit test and pulmonary function assessment.
Working Conditions
Job roles involve working in various environmental conditions including heat, cold, rain, and humidity. Regular evening and weekend shifts may be required. Expect exposure to noise, dirt, grease, and other materials commonly found in industrial settings.
Physical Requirements
Stand and walk frequently throughout shifts.
Be capable of pushing or pulling up to 200 lbs with assistance as needed.
Climb ladders and stairs regularly.
Lift items weighing up to 50 lbs independently, and up to 75 lbs with assistance.
Carry loads of up to 50 lbs for distances of at least 40 feet.
Reach at various angles regularly.
Grasp lightweight materials (less than 5 lbs.) frequently.
Bend, stoop, and kneel as required in job functions.
Navigate catwalks safely.
Work at heights of up to 150 feet safely.
