IBM Mainframe Developer

Job Title: IBM Mainframe Developer Location: Peoria, IL (Onsite) Employment Type: COntract Work Schedule: Monday to Friday – First Shift (On-call when required) Job Description: We are seeking an experienced IBM Mainframe Developer to join our team in Peoria, IL.

This role requires a deep understanding of COBOL programming and IBM Mainframe systems to support both ongoing incident resolution and long-term modernization projects.

Key Responsibilities: Analyze, support, and resolve incidents in complex legacy Mainframe applications.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand application logic and guide resolution efforts.

Contribute to modernization projects by assisting with migration from Mainframe to modern platforms.

Coordinate and implement changes to Mainframe databases and related applications.

Must-Have Skills: 5+ years of hands-on experience with COBOL on IBM z/OS Proficiency in JCL, VSAM, DB2, IMS, CICS Knowledge of ACF2 rules, OPC scheduling, and Sequential file systems Bachelor's Degree in Computer Programming/Engineering (or equivalent experience) Strong communication and teamwork skills Nice to Have: Experience with ERP systems Familiarity with database management and modernization strategies Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Programming or equivalent with 5–7 years of experience OR Associate’s Degree with 8+ years of relevant experience
