JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

Rancho California Water District is currently seeking a well-qualified candidate to fill an Water Reclamation Manager position.

Salary: Beginning 07/01/2025, the salary range for the Water Reclamation Manager will be $164,077-216,579 due to a 2.5% COLA increase.

Join Rancho California Water District (RCWD) as a Water Reclamation Manager. This position is the Chief Plant Operator for the Santa Rosa Regional Resources Authority’s (SRRRA), Santa Rosa Water Reclamation Facility (SRWRF). The SRWF is a 5 MGD Sequential Batch Reactor Plant (SBR), which consists of a Headworks, Mechanical Bar Screens, Aerated Grit Camber followed by 5 SBR’s. Flows from these SBR’s go to an equalization basin, which feeds an Advanced Water Treatment (AWT) Plant, treating the water to a Title 22 Reclaimed Water standard through Coagulation, Filtration and Disinfection. The facility is staffed by one supervisor and four wastewater plant operators.

Additionally, the Water Reclamation Manager oversees the maintenance and operation of the RCWD and SRRRA Collection System, consisting of 68 miles of gravity mains and two lift stations. Included with this is the RCWD Pretreatment Program, overseen by three staff members. This position acts as the Legal Responsible Official (LRO) / Legal Responsible Person (LRP) on behalf of the District for CIWQS, SMARTS, and SCAQMD. Other duties also include generating and tracking the Annual O&M Budget, as well as working with Engineering on both short term and long-term Capital Improvement Projects. Major upcoming initiatives include maximizing the nearly 50,000AF of storage in Vail Lake in combination with the expansion of the Groundwater Basin to reduce reliance on treated imported water.

Work Schedule...

All full-time employees work a 9/80 schedule. Eligible employees may work a hybrid schedule, as determined by department needs.

Qualification Guidelines...

The appropriate knowledge, skills and abilities can be achieved through a variety of combinations of experience and training. A typical example is:

Five (5) or more years of increasingly responsible experience in the operation, construction, and/or maintenance of wastewater treatment plants, wastewater collection systems and water reclamation systems

Two (2) or more years of professional supervisory experience

Grade 4 Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certificate issued by the State Water Resources Control Board

Grade 1 Environmental Compliance Inspector Certificate issued by the California Water Environment Association is required to be obtained within one (1) year of hire date.
