Job Summary

Workbox Staffing is seeking Acme Operators that will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining Acme multi-spindle screw machines to produce precision metal components. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret technical blueprints and specifications in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate Acme multi-spindle screw machines according to production specifications.

Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and engineering drawings to determine machine setup and tooling requirements.

Monitor machine operations to ensure products meet dimensional and quality specifications.

Adjust machine settings (speed, feed, tooling, etc.) as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.

Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.

Replace worn or broken tools and maintain proper tool inventory.

Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues or malfunctions during production runs.

Perform daily maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure proper operation.

Document production data and quality checks accurately.

Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and improve processes.

Key Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certification preferred.

Minimum 1–3 years of experience operating Acme or other screw machines.

Strong understanding of machining principles and metal properties.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.

Familiarity with inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, thread gauges).

Good mechanical troubleshooting skills.

Attention to detail and strong quality orientation.

Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long periods.
