Job Title: INF Maintenance Planner Scheduler-Electrical

Organization: Integrated Planning & Scheduling (51390608)

Essential Job Duties

Advises and coordinates with representatives to assist in solving problems concerning area assigned.

May prepare reports and maintain records of maintenance/tooling planning activities.

Establishes a working knowledge of the work scheduling process.

Assists in developing written specifications for the procurement of materials at the required quality level.

Assists in coordinating the acquisition of materials/tooling, makes required changes in applicable schedules, and coordinates the flow of work involving area assigned.

Reviews the development of scheduling systems to control the status of work and preparation of reports showing the current status of assigned programs.

Contacts representatives relative to scheduling changes made and ensures necessary flow of materials, tooling, products, and/or services.

May be required to conduct various self-assessments pertaining to area of responsibility and other related areas.

May be required to verify various safety related information regarding the preparation and conduct of maintenance/tooling activities.

Coordinates planning of work to ensure quality, safety, and production requirements are satisfied.

Coordinates assigned activities with other Plant supervisors as appropriate for the accomplishment of assigned activities in accordance with directive schedules, controls load factors, and flow of work to ensure optimum use of manpower, tools and equipment, and reporting of discrepancies.

Accountable for all direct output assigned and for providing direct output support to his/her manager.

Responsible for establishing and maintaining a thorough knowledge of applicable Federal, State, DOE, Corporate and Plant rules, regulations and Plant-wide operating policies and procedures.

Recommends, prepares, and maintains operating procedures, systems, policies, and controls pertaining to the assigned area of responsibility.

May conducts inspections and evaluations of structures, systems, and components to prepare work planning documents.

Maintains working knowledge of the computerized maintenance management system.

Researches new techniques and recommends changes in scheduling based on a comprehensive knowledge of Plant control methods, programming and scheduling procedures.

Develops and coordinates the review and approval of work documents following applicable procedures and guides.

Maintains a working knowledge of the applicable scheduling process.

Develops and coordinates the review and approval of tooling work documents following applicable procedures and guides.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required to attend and/or successfully complete training classes as determined by the Training and Development Technologies Department, through General Employee Training (Reference DOE Order 426.2), and Management.

Participates in worker involvement including input to work planning and methods to identify hazards and controls.

Understands a worker’s right to stop work when they feel their own or other’s personal safety is jeopardized.

Attends all required safety meetings and training. Offers suggestions on improvements to the work environment.

Skills and Minimum Qualifications

Must be able to perform all duties and functions outlined above.

Must meet initial employment requirements.

Must be able to read, write, and comprehend applicable written and/or oral instructions.

Must be physically fit to perform the above job functions as determined by Medical Evaluation.

This position requires a working knowledge and ability to plan and schedule work within the area of responsibility.

This position may require the ability to plan, review, communicate, and modify maintenance/tooling work documents and assist in establishing priorities to ensure schedules are met.

This position requires the ability to coordinate the movement of products, materials, tools, and/or services to ensure schedules are met.

This position requires proficiency in word processing and database applications including Planning software.

All qualifications, work history, training, education and ability to perform the functions and responsibilities involved will be determined by a comprehensive interview and background evaluation.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Must have a minimum of six (6) years of electrically qualified craft experience in maintenance or construction with job related planning experience.

AND a PSP (Planning & Scheduling Professional) designation

OR Must have an AA, AS, or advanced degree in business, design or a related technical field from an accredited college or technical vocational institute. (Including Journeyman license or completion of an accredited crafts apprenticeship program).

Notes

Requires a Q clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.

Requires Human Reliability Program (HRP) certification. If the successful candidate is not currently certified in the HRP, the certification process will be initiated upon assumption of the position.
