Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator/Mail and Trucking, the Mail Clerk is responsible for sorting, delivering and pickup of university mail and performing other related clerical duties.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. The primary responsibility of this position is to accurately sort, bundle and deliver campus and U.S. Postal Mail to University departments.
2. Collect outgoing and campus mail from University departments.
3. Provide service to customers. Convey instructions and respond to questions concerning University mailing procedures.
4. Balance postage due and business reply accounts.
5. Ability to process Fed Ex, UPS and international mail.
6. Provide back-up delivery and truck driver duties as required.
7. Perform miscellaneous routine clerical duties such as maintaining records, answering telephones, labeling and stuffing envelopes and checking inventory.
8. Willingness to work part-time and some Saturdays.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• A high school education or equivalent
• A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
• Ability to accurately sort and distribute large amounts of mail
• Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions
• Mathematical aptitude
• Ability to lift mail bags and boxes, occasionally exceeding 75 lbs
• Ability to endure periods of extensive walking in indoor and outdoor settings
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Knowledge of current postage rates and regulations
