McChrystal Group’s Associate Analytics Consultant plays a central role in the execution of people analytics and survey-based consultative engagements with clients focused on data-driven organizational change efforts.
They help plan project stages, report on progress to assure deadlines and standards are met, and play a pivotal role in the data analysis that drives business outcomes for clients.
In this capacity, they work under an Analytics Project Lead and operate at the nexus between the MG Analytics team, the client, and other internal stakeholders during day-to-day project activities.
Core areas of focus include basic data analysis, survey science and statistical analysis, data visualization and presentation design, and most critically, data-driven story telling in communications with client leaders, as well as standard consultative skills.

Expect that you will be a part of a dynamic, high performing team and have direct engagement with internal and client senior level leaders - from Manager to C-suite - at a regular cadence.
Responsibilities:
Assists in planning, designing, and executing end-to-end analytics projects with clients, including research design, data collection, analysis, presentation, recommendations, and follow-up consultation
Assists with designing focus groups and interview sessions with clients
Performs data cleaning and analysis of survey results
Analyzes and manipulates client HR/demographics data sets to contextualize survey responses by demographic cohorts
Prepares client-ready presentations
Uses data trends to tell a story and helps craft narrative-driven presentations for executive-level buyers
Supports delivery of client presentations to executive-level stakeholders
Applies statistical methods and/or proprietary models to report accurate results, on schedule, and in standard formats
Communicates how data was analyzed using easy-to-understand language
Manages relationships with internal stakeholder teams to ensure timely project execution and coordination with Analytics team leadership
Demonstrates innovation through research and contribution to new products, visualizations, tools, etc.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of relevant professional experience, or a Master’s degree and 2 years of relevant professional experience. Relevant degrees may include: Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or similar field such as Social or Applied psychology, Organizational Behavior, Sociology, Behavioral Science, Behavioral Economics, Organizational Communication
Previous project management and planning experience
Ability to effectively coordinate with internal and external stakeholders
Ability to juggle multiple projects and respond to conflicting needs
Strong analytical, research, writing, and interpersonal skills
Ability to synthesize and simplify complex data into high-level narratives
Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
Experience analyzing survey questions and responses, including basic statistical techniques and significance metrics
Experience in, or willingness to learn, Python and/or R for basic data manipulation and statistical analysis
Experience in, or willingness to learn, SQL or other relational database querying for basic data retrieval and reporting
Experience in, or willingness to learn, data visualization tools such as Power BI or D3.js is a plus
Ability to support the coordination and maintenance of client relationships
Ability and desire to travel up to 25% of the time
