Firewall Engineer (Operational Technology)

DESCRIPTION

***MUST HAVE experience in Palo Alto, Defender, and a manufacturing background. Must have Operational Technology experience. Operational Technology (OT) is the hardware and software that monitors and controls physical devices, processes, and infrastructure, primarily in industrial settings. Unlike Information Technology (IT), which deals with data and business systems, OT focuses on the functionality and safety of physical processes like manufacturing, energy distribution, and transportation. OT systems include industrial control systems (ICS), programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage firewall solutions to ensure the security of our network infrastructure.

• Perform advanced configuration and maintenance of firewalls.

• Develop and update firewall policies to protect against internal and external threats.

• Monitor network traffic and logs to identify and mitigate security risks.

• Collaborate with IT teams to integrate firewalls with existing systems and architectures.

• Provide technical leadership and guidance on network security best practices.

• Conduct regular system audits to ensure compliance with security standards.

• In-depth knowledge of firewall technologies.

• Proven experience in firewall policy configuration and management.

• Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, and switching.

• Ability to troubleshoot complex network security issues.

• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

• Exposure to automation tools.

• Experience with scripting and automation to streamline firewall management tasks.

• Familiarity with cloud security principles and technologies.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

• Relevant certifications in network security.

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in a network security role.Company Description
