Controller – Multi-Plant Operations (US & Mexico)

Manufacturing Industry Onsite Required

$130,000 - $150,000 + Bonus Health/Vision/Dental/401k

An established manufacturing company is seeking an experienced and proactive Controller to oversee financial operations across three production plants in the U.S. and Mexico. This leadership role is responsible for managing budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and team development while ensuring compliance and driving performance improvements across all accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct and coordinate financial planning, budgeting, and analysis across three plant locations.

Establish benchmarks for evaluating financial and operational performance at each facility.

Monitor monthly operating results and analyze variances against budget.

Manage debt financing activities and ensure timely service payments in coordination with external agencies.

Oversee day-to-day accounting operations for all three plants, ensuring consistency and compliance.

Coordinate preparation of annual tax returns with an external CPA firm.

Ensure accuracy and reconciliation of the peso ledger, investigating discrepancies and aligning records with reporting standards.

Assess and enhance the accounting structure and team performance across all plants.

Lead preparation and consolidation of financial statements across the organization.

Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations to ensure proper documentation and account accuracy.

Implement departmental-level transaction tracking and cost-performance analysis for profit centers.

Oversee monthly close process, including journal entry review and analytical review of financial activity.

Prepare consolidated monthly financial statements with supporting footnotes for U.S. and Mexico operations.

Generate year-to-date cash flow statements and perform cash projections to manage liquidity and optimize cash returns.

Coordinate preparation of forecasts and monthly reforecasts incorporating actual and projected performance.

Back up and oversee bi-weekly payroll processing.

Conduct financial analysis to support contract negotiations and capital investment decisions.

Supervise reimbursement billing and tracking for customer-permitted charges.

Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal reporting requirements.

Develop and implement departmental policies, procedures, and short- and long-term goals.

Design and maintain a scalable finance and accounting structure across the U.S. and Mexico to meet evolving business needs.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.

10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including multi-plant or multi-entity leadership.

Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and international accounting practices.

Experience managing teams across borders and leading financial operations in both the U.S. and Mexico.

Proficient in financial reporting, forecasting, cash management, and ERP systems.

Bilingual in English and Spanish highly preferred.

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with a hands-on management approach.
