Application Development Analyst

Job Description

The Application Development Analyst is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications that meet business requirements. They collaborate with stakeholders to gather specifications, analyze technical needs, and translate them into functional software solutions. Analysts ensure applications are efficient, scalable, secure, and aligned with organizational goals.

Primary Responsibilities

Planning, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the application eco-system that supports the company’s operations and business functions.

Defines, develops and manages a comprehensive and integrated ITSM landscape, based on best-practice processes, disciplines and related toolsets.

Leverages influencing and negotiation skills across the company to enable cost-effective and innovative shared solutions in the achievement of business goals.

Commitment towards service improvements

Perform application testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal functionality

Participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) including requirement gatherings, technical analysis, coding, and implementation

Develop technical documentation for new and existing systems

Implementing best practices in software development

Ensure application development follows internal standards, best practices, and industry guidelines.

Support deployment activities and post-deployment monitoring and maintenance

Network and build strong relationships both internally and externally

Assist with integrating third-party systems

Provide user support and training as needed.

Stay updated on emerging technologies and suggest innovations to enhance system performance and usability.

Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or another related field.

Minimum 5 years’ experience in application development.

Proven experience with languages such as Java, C#, C++, Python or JavaScript

Familiarity with frameworks such as .NET, Spring, React and database technologies to include SQL Server and Oracle

Extensive practical experience in application development, software package configuration, and integration of complex systems.

Proven expertise in integrating sophisticated application systems, including custom-built, packaged, Cloud-based, SaaS and PaaS.

Exceptional ability in analytical thinking, strategic planning, conceptualization, and execution of business initiatives.

Deep business insight, with specialized knowledge of industry trends, enterprise operations, and business unit dynamics.

Skilled at building consensus, making informed decisions across multiple variables, and securing buy-in for key initiatives.

Highly self-motivated with a strong ethical foundation, demonstrating resilience and a commitment to exceeding expectations.

Requires excellent time management with the ability to multi-task and complete projects within established timelines.

Advanced communication skills, including good verbal and written skills.

Team player with a positive attitude.

Customer service driven to meet quality standards and deadlines.

Quality and safety minded.
