Job Title: Corporate Controller / Director of Finance

Location: Corporate Headquarters – Arizona

Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Industry: Cannabis – Vertically Integrated Multi-State Operator (MSO)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned Corporate Controller / Director of Finance to lead all

financial functions for a rapidly expanding, vertically integrated cannabis company with

operations in Arizona, Utah, New Jersey, and licensed entry into Florida. The ideal

candidate will be a highly strategic and hands-on finance leader with demonstrated

experience managing the complexities of a multi-entity, multi-state organization in a

highly regulated industry.

As the financial steward of the company, you will be responsible for accounting

operations, financial planning and analysis, compliance, internal controls, and regulatory

reporting. You will work closely with executive leadership to support sustainable growth,

ensure financial integrity, and drive operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Oversight Accounting Operations

Lead the accounting and finance functions across all business units and legal

entities.

Manage full-cycle accounting processes including general ledger, consolidations,

account analysis, AP/AR, fixed assets, and inventory cost accounting.

Oversee preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual

financial statements in compliance with GAAP and cannabis industry standards.

Maintain robust intercompany accounting and consolidation practices across

state lines and business segments (cultivation, manufacturing, wholesale

distribution, retail).

Financial Strategy Planning

Partner with the CFO and executive team to shape financial strategy and support

short- and long-term business goals.

Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and cash flow models by entity

and region.

Provide financial insights and performance metrics to guide decision-making at

the leadership level.

Compliance, Controls Risk Management

Ensure compliance with state-specific cannabis financial regulations, IRS Section

280E, and evolving federal, state, and local requirements.

Design, implement, and monitor strong internal controls, policies, and procedures

to protect company assets and ensure financial accuracy.

Manage state-specific regulatory filings, licensing renewals, and banking

relationships in a limited-access industry.

Team Development Leadership

Build and lead a high-performing accounting and finance team at the corporate

level, providing mentorship, training, and professional development.

Coordinate with operational leaders across states to align financial reporting and

accountability.

Ensure collaboration between finance and key departments including cultivation,

retail, compliance, and legal.

Audit, Reporting External Relations

Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors, tax advisors, and consultants.

Oversee the preparation of audit materials, investor reports, and board-level

financial presentations.

Support due diligence and financial analysis for potential acquisitions, joint

ventures, or new state launches.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

7–10+ years of experience in corporate finance and accounting, with at least 3

years in a senior financial leadership role

Strong background in multi-entity and multi-state operations; cannabis,

manufacturing, or retail experience highly preferred

Deep understanding of 280E, cannabis financial compliance, and ERP/seed-

to-sale systems (e.g., QuickBooks Enterprise, Dutchie, etc)

Proven success implementing internal controls, driving operational

improvements, and scaling financial infrastructure in a growth-stage environment

Excellent communication skills and ability to interface across all levels of the

organization

High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-

regulation industry
