VOSS Automotive, a leading global supplier to on-highway and off-road OEM's in the design and manufacture of Diesel Exhaust Fluid Lines, Coolant Lines, Air Suspension Lines and Fittings, Fuel Lines and Fittings and Quick Connect and Accessories, is expanding its workforce and has the following position open at its North American Headquarters.

Reports to: Costing Manager

Job Overview:

The Cost Value Engineer identifies, analyzes, and implements cost-saving opportunities throughout the product lifecycle, from design to manufacturing. Responsibilities include evaluating technical processes, materials, and manufacturing methods to optimize cost efficiency while maintaining product quality and profitability. The engineer collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and finance, to develop and execute value engineering and cost-reduction initiatives. This role requires occasional travel to our facility in Mexico.

Job Duties:

Conduct detailed cost analyses of components, assemblies, and manufacturing processes

Identify cost drivers and propose effective solutions to optimize designs and reduce costs without compromising quality.

Lead value engineering activities, evaluating alternative materials, designs, production techniques, and processes to increase product value.

Organize cross-functional workshops aimed at developing actionable cost-saving initiatives.

Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and suppliers to implement and track approved cost-saving initiatives.

Ensure accurate documentation, validation, and effective integration of cost reductions into manufacturing.

Perform competitive benchmarking and analyze market trends to identify potential cost-saving strategies.

Evaluate emerging technologies and industry best practices to propose innovative improvements.

Regularly generate and present detailed cost analysis reports, savings achieved, and implementation status.

Clearly communicate project progress, cost-saving opportunities, and outcomes to management and stakeholders.

Contribute actively to continuous improvement by promoting best practices in cost management and operational efficiency.

Support Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives aimed at enhancing productivity and cost control.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or similar)

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in cost engineering, value analysis, or related functions within manufacturing environments, preferably automotive.

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and product design concepts.

Experience in cost-estimation methodologies and analytical tools.

Proficiency with ERP systems, CAD software, and MS Office Suite (especially Excel)
