Position Details

Contract Type:Full-time

Hours:35-40 hours per week

Caseload:Grades 9-12

Responsibilities

Provide sign language interpretation services for students grade 9-12 during classroom instruction, school activities, and meetings.

Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers to ensure full participation in educational activities.

Accurately interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa.

Adapt interpreting methods to meet the needs of individual students based on their IEPs.

Work collaboratively with teachers, school staff, and parents to support student success.

Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interpreting services.

Requirements

A minimum of a 3.5 Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score.

Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) Certification

Experience working in a K-12 educational setting preferred.

Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
