COMPENSATION RATE: Up to $35 per hour (Depending on SCHOOL BUS DRIVING experience)
POSITION SUMMARY
Full Time & Part Time Available
Daily routes, driving for athletic events (locally) and grade-level field trips. These trips would typically be the Denver Zoo, Museum, etc, School bus drivers are responsible for operating a school transportation vehicle over an assigned route abiding by all rules and regulations as provided by school policies and local, state and federal governmental agencies. Responsible for the safety and well-being of students, staff while providing transportation services to special events, such as field trips or sporting events. Drivers must deal with students, parents, staff, and community members in a courteous and respectful manner. It may be necessary to receive and forward complaints about schedules, quality of service or other issues related to transportation.
Drivers will track and document a number of matters related to fuel consumption, miles traveled, number of students transported, etc. Reports will be submitted on a regular basis.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent
Must be 21 years of age
Valid Colorado driver’s license
CDL endorsement
First Aid and CPR certification/training
Bilingual skills – Spanish & English desired
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to operate school bus in a safe and responsible manner
Good verbal and written communication skills
Good problem-solving ability; good judgement
Ability to interact appropriately with children of different ages
Ability to complete daily record keeping reports

Pick up and deliver students as per schedule
Be attentive to traffic and weather conditions while staying on schedule and ensuring the safety of passengers.
Perform daily safety and maintenance check
Perform minor maintenance duties such as filling fluid levels to the appropriate levels
Ensure vehicles are kept clean of trash/debris
Responsible for maintaining a safe environment within the bus by enforcing rules of conduct and responding to emergencies
Track and document the amount of fuel used, number of students transported and miles driven, and submit report to assigned supervisor
Deal with students, parents and staff in a courteous and respectful manner
Reports any and all safety issues, student misbehavior or other job related duties to the assigned supervisor
